Day 1- Introduction (Teacher's Guide)
Begin by activating background knowledge of how animals adapt to their surroundings. Generate a KWL chart or other graphic organizer to compile student ideas for the whole class.
Review important vocabulary terms and provide examples of each (adaptation and survival are most important for this day)
Explain the purpose of animal adaptation (to survive in the wild) and explain that the students will learn all about different adaptations based on physical traits, behavior, and habitat.
Hand out this worksheet to complete the Team Activity: Animal Adaptations and the Galapagos Islands
